Democratic Nominee for Sheriff Patrick McDermott Endorsed by Massachusetts Treasurer Deborah Goldberg

QUINCY- Patrick McDermott, Democratic candidate for Sheriff, announced today the endorsement of Massachusetts State Treasurer Deborah Goldberg.

In endorsing McDermott, Goldberg said, “Patrick McDermott’s commitment to community, public service and to the people of Norfolk County is second to none. He provides a voice for those who feel forgotten.  His experience and focus on crime prevention, crisis intervention, continuing education and hope will be a great asset to both the Norfolk County Sheriff’s Office and the entire county.

“It is because of the person he is, the work he has done and the vision he has that I am proud to endorse Patrick McDermott for Norfolk County Sheriff,” Goldberg added.

“I am honored to be endorsed by Treasurer Goldberg. Her work to reimagine the Treasurer’s office is a great example of what can be accomplished with an expanded vision.  Through her Office of Economic Empowerment, she has created partnerships and built effective financial literacy programs for everyone,” said Patrick McDermott. “It’s that kind vision that I will bring to Sheriff’s office to better serve the people of Norfolk County through partnerships and programs which will increase awareness, safety and prevention.”

Patrick McDermott has served the 28 cities and towns of Norfolk County for the past 18 years as the Register of Probate, where he has worked to improve services and efficiency in the Probate and Family Court.
