Massachusetts State Representative Tommy Vitolo Endorses Patrick McDermott for Norfolk County Sheriff

Quincy – Patrick McDermott, Democratic candidate for Norfolk County Sheriff, announced today he has received the endorsement of Massachusetts State Representative Tommy Vitolo.

“Now more than ever, we need good people in public office like Patrick McDermott,” said Representative Vitolo. “Patrick McDermott knows that the Norfolk County Sheriff’s Office needs to be a part of our communities. The days of the Sheriff simply managing the jail are over, and Patrick McDermott understands the importance of working with and in communities like Brookline to keep all residents safe, secure, and on the right path.”

“It’s time for the Norfolk County Sheriff’s Office to evolve to meet the needs of our communities in the twenty-first century,” Patrick Mcdermott said. “I am proud to work alongside people like Tommy Vitolo to ensure that Norfolk County is safer, more secure, and more socially just. We cannot talk about public safety if the public doesn’t feel safe, and as Sheriff, I am committed to making sure that all residents of Norfolk County have equal access to justice and safety.”

Patrick McDermott has served the 28 cities and towns of Norfolk County for the past 18 years as the Register of Probate, where he has worked to improve services and efficiency in the Probate and Family Court. He also served as a Quincy City Councilor and is involved in professional and community organizations such as Rotary International and the Norfolk County and Massachusetts Bar Associations.
